Apologies for the lack of updates recently - at present the Paliz Bay Railway is at the back of the garage, and a bit inaccessible :-( I am hoping to do some work on the garage to make it more suitable as a workroom (adding insulation, etc), so hopefully by December I will be able to start doing some more work on the layout. In the meantime I am working on a new modular N scale layout, the Rochelle Intermodal. More details on that to come, along with a dedicated website.

I have added photos from the first show the Paliz Bay Railway attended. I will be adding new functionality soon to allow you to view larger photos of the layout - look out for this in the coming weeks.

Paliz Bay had its first Show Appearance!! The Paliz Bay layout has its first public outing on the 27th November at my club's annual show. I spent a frantic week getting the layout ready, and worked late nights (one day I worked till 4.30am!)...the layout was not completely finished, but was operational. The locos ran brilliantly, and apart from a few hiccups early on, the layout performed well! I had to build two extensions on either end of the layout to enable proper switching - one side had a length of track allowing a loco and 2 boxcars, the other end had a turnout which allowed a loco to run around the train. These two extensions were put up half-hour before the show started!! I also added a lighting unit which really enhanced the layout. I'll be putting photos up as soon as I receive them from another club member who lent me his digital camera. So, now to carry on with the construction of Paliz Bay! I'll update the construction photos soon - have just moved house so things are a bit hectic at the moment...!
