Tugboat
I have just received a kit for a yard tugboat for my harbour. It seems quite a challenging project, so this will take longer than I anticipated. Be sure to keep an eye on the updates page for progress reports on this project. I won't be starting it yet, as I want to finish my pier first, but you can see photos of the kit....view

Harbour pier - scratchbuilding project
While looking through my back issues of Model Railroader magazine I came across an article entitled 'How to model a salt water port' (Model Railroader, September 1997 page 60, by John Pryke). In this article was a description & diagram on how to model a wooden pier. This was just what I was looking for as I wanted to have a pier in my harbour, but was not sure what type to have. I was originally planning to buy the Walthers pier, but after seeing this article, scratchbuilding a wooden pier did not look too hard and looked like an interesting challenge.
